Italian American Community Center Foundation
Welcome to our site and thank you for visiting!
In 2009, The Italian American Community Center established a non-profit 501c3 foundation with a mission to advance, celebrate and preserve the Italian culture and heritage while helping families rediscover the great strength to be found in these traditions. The Foundation holds many annual cultural programs and events. Our goal is to connect a new generation of Italian Americans with traditions and an ethnicity which has been all but lost in today’s world. With your ongoing support we hope to continue this good work for generations to come.
What is the IACC Foundation?
The Italian American Community Foundation was incorporated in 1998 as the Italian American Heritage Foundation, Inc. While that remains the legal name, the Foundation voted to change its operating name to the Italian American Community Center Foundation to better reflect its roots in, and connection with, the IACC organization.
How is it different from the Club?
Both organizations are concerned with the promotion of and education about our Italian heritage and engage in various efforts to benefit the larger community and bring Italian culture to the Albany area. However, the Club has a primary focus on the welfare of its members even though the general community may benefit from Club activities and services.
What does the Foundation do?
In keeping with its mission, the Foundation runs social and cultural events that further enhance the appreciation of Italian-American culture and heritage. Such events include concerts, film showings, various culture-themed dinners and Italian language classes
